Hydrochemical Study of Artesian wells in Babylon Governorate - Middle of Iraq

Abstract This study tended to evaluate the quality of groundwater three artesian wells (free ground water) distributed randomly in province Babylon order knowledge a better using this water. Three water samples were chosen from each well achieve purpose. Groundwater analyzed laboratory department applied geology terms following variables: total dissolved substances (TDS), electrical conductivity (EC), positive cations and negative ions, heavy elements. The results showed that 1, 3 have extreme salinity, whit high Electrical Conductivity ranging 3200 8800 µS/cm. In addition, they are characterized by exceeding critical limits for percentage magnesium show more extent sodium element through soluble (SSP%)and permissible values chloride ions. And also, analysis result elements shows 1 slight copper contamination cadmium contamination, so my causing damage plant growth. While confirm be valid irrigation sensitive plants. Our recommendation is good management resources essential preserving region's soil surface reducing underground pollution.
